rhiarti: That lovely Mr @ememess did my coursework for me!

One of the pieces of coursework was “instant poetry”.  The directions were to pick two or three sentences from a book, newspaper or magazine and transform them (within certain guidelines) into poetry.  Nearest book to hand was Only Forward.  Ended up with two poems as the first was, bar one sentence break, copied verbatim and felt like cheating:

Thirteen

There are monsters.

There really are.

I woke up

to an odd mixture of noises.

Fugitive from Justice

Six policemen,

three small children

and a bunny rabbit

killed.

Loathsome thief,

child molester,

animal hurter,

defiler of graves.

Described as being

in his sixties

medium build,

with a nasty nose.
